Pakistan Peoples Party

Islam is our Faith. Democracy is our Politics. Socialism is our Economy.
All Power to the People. Martyrdom Is Our Path

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto strengthened democracy in the country, uniting it under the Constitution. As the beloved leader of Pakistan’s first democratic Party, he successfully structured and delivered to us the unanimous Constitution of 1973.

Pakistan Peoples Party was born at a time of immense darkness, but it emerged as a light that drowned out the injustices and oppression from society. To this day, PPP continues to strengthen democracy in Pakistan despite threats of the system. Our dedication to a progressive Pakistan is powerfully complemented by the farsighted leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who has successfully risen to the challenge of leadership which was thrust upon him, like his mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and his grandfather Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto before him.

Pakistan Peoples Party has a long and illustrious history of fighting the forces of extremism and destruction threatening the sanctity of Pakistan. We have sacrificed the lives of our workers and our leaders for the cause, and in doing so, our leaders have paved the way for a stronger Pakistan with their own lives.

Under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP has renewed its vow to eliminate extremism from Pakistan in all forms. We are striving to create a truly democratic state where all Pakistanis have equal opportunities to excel at life, as enshrined in the Constitution of 1973.

As a vibrant political force, PPP represents people from across Pakistan and from all walks of life. We are the only political Party in Pakistan that is standing firm against fanatical ideologies, strengthening the forces of modernism and egalitarianism.

More than 50 years ago the Party rose quickly and became hope for the hopeless and gave a voice to the voiceless. The ideological basis of PPP resonated with every Pakistani, inspiring them to subscribe to the Party manifesto. From 1967 to 2018, PPP has held on firmly to our values, and the principles laid down by Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto when he founded the Party. All these years, Pakistan Peoples Party has spared no opportunity to push Pakistan to a brighter future.

In these five decades, Pakistan Peoples Party has spearheaded the movement for social and civil reforms across the country. We set a precedent for constitutional law and created a strong base across Pakistan. And that is why the people of Pakistan have elected PPP into the federal government five times, in 1970, 1977, 1988, 1993 and 2008, since the inception of the Party.

These were charismatic men, each in their own way, was fascinating to observe and to engage. Anyone watching, listening or even simply reading the text of rally and stump speeches can feel the energy and sincerity of their beliefs .

Our slogan of “Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan” is representative of our unwavering commitment to the provision of basic needs to all, which would enable everyone to get their fundamental rights thus making them the real epicenter of power. Men and women of all religions, castes, creeds, and walks of life make up the strength of the Party. Our ‘jiyalas,’ i.e., the workers have supported Party leadership through every struggle and made PPP the democratic force that it is today.

PPP has remained loyal to its core beliefs all these years, and our struggle for a democratic Pakistan and empowerment of the people form the backbone of our political stance. PPP rules the hearts of the people, and people reciprocate this love with wholehearted support for our common cause.
